Tesla has officially opened the first 50 stations in its Megacharger network designed for the Semi and other commercial electric vehicles. The stations are concentrated along major freight corridors in California, Texas, and the eastern seaboard, each equipped with charging capacity exceeding one megawatt.

The Megacharger can add approximately 400 miles of range to a Tesla Semi in 30 minutes, a breakthrough for long-haul electric trucking. Fleet operators including PepsiCo and Walmart have already begun integrating the stations into their logistics planning for electric truck deployments.

Tesla plans to expand the network to 200 stations by year-end, with a goal of 500 locations by mid-2027. The company is also developing an open standard to allow other commercial EV manufacturers to access the network, mirroring its approach with the passenger vehicle Supercharger network.
