Stellantis has issued a massive recall covering approximately 800,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ram 1500 trucks due to an electrical wiring harness defect that could cause engine stalling.
Affected Vehicles
- 2023-2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee (4xe and standard)
- 2024-2025 Ram 1500 (all powertrains)
- Vehicles with build dates between January 2023 and August 2025
The Problem
A wiring harness connector may loosen over time due to vibration, potentially causing intermittent loss of engine power while driving. 127 complaints have been filed with NHTSA, including 14 reports of engine stalling at highway speeds.
What to Do
Dealers will inspect and secure the wiring harness connector, installing a retention clip to prevent future loosening. The repair takes approximately 45 minutes and is free. Owners will receive mail notification beginning late April.
