General Motors has issued a recall for 4.1 million Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks from model years 2019-2024 due to a brake line corrosion defect that could lead to brake fluid leaks.

What Owners Should Do

Owners will receive notification letters starting May 1. Dealers will inspect and replace affected brake lines free of charge. Until repaired, owners should be alert for any changes in brake pedal feel, brake warning lights, or visible fluid leaks.

NHTSA has received 342 complaints and reports of 18 accidents related to the defect, though no fatalities have been reported.
