Ford Motor Company has issued a recall affecting approximately 340,000 F-150 trucks from the 2024-2025 model years due to a potential brake fluid leak that could reduce stopping power.
What's the Problem?
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that a manufacturing defect in the brake master cylinder may cause gradual fluid loss. Drivers may notice a soft brake pedal or longer stopping distances.
Which Vehicles Are Affected?
- 2024-2025 Ford F-150 (all trim levels)
- 2024-2025 Ford F-150 Lightning (select builds)
- Vehicles built between March 2023 and November 2024
Ford dealerships will inspect and replace the brake master cylinder free of charge. Owners should receive notification letters by the end of April 2026.
If you experience any brake anomalies, Ford recommends contacting your dealer immediately rather than waiting for the official notice.
