Ford Motor Company has issued a recall affecting approximately 145,000 Bronco Sport vehicles from the 2024 and 2025 model years due to a potential fuel pump malfunction. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration confirmed the recall on Monday after receiving 23 complaints of engines stalling at highway speeds.

The defect involves a manufacturing flaw in the fuel pump control module that can cause intermittent loss of fuel pressure. Ford says no crashes or injuries have been reported in connection with the issue, but the stalling risk warrants immediate attention.

Owners will be notified by mail starting May 1, and dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly free of charge. Ford estimates the repair will take approximately two hours per vehicle.
